Seasonal health and beauty

Autumn

Autumn means hedgerow fruits come into season as blackberries, sloes and damsons add colour and flavour to our countryside. The change of seasons isn’t all good though as it also brings rain, wind and dropping temperatures, meaning our skin and immune systems face a host of challenges.

Some of the seasonal fruits in our hedgerows may be able to offer us a helping hand however, as the oil from rosehips has been found to be particularly rich in essential fatty acids, the building blocks for healthy skin cells and one of the foundations of the protective layers the skin forms.

Furthermore, rosehips are also crammed with substances called bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are found in certain plants and known to be powerful anti-oxidants that have been shown to protect the body and skin against harmful substances called oxygen free radicals – the main culprits thought to be responsible for aging skin and a host of health problems. Studies1, published in leading journals, have also helped show that extracts from rosehips appear to have an ability to positively modulate certain aspects of the immune system and they’re also found to be high in Vitamin C, which has been linked to helping bolster our immune systems.

To save you the hassle of picking your own rosehips, and the risk of getting caught on the thorns of rosehips bushes, Phytacol have created a range of leading rosehip products to help both your health and skin.

Belle+ syrups are a range of rosehip syrups, specifically formulated to help maintain women’s health. They combine rosehip syrup with either omega 3, iron or vitamin D, having been purposely created to meet the needs of modern women.

Phytalotion and Phytaoil have been specifically formulated to help moisturise and tone your skin. Based on rosehip oil and extract both products are free from mineral oils, synthetic preservatives or fragrances, but jam packed full of natural oils including apricot kernel, jojoba seed, lavender, lime and geranium which act to provide a natural barrier for your skin, keeping moisture locked in and providing vital nutrients to aid skin recovery. The products also contain vitamins A and E, adding yet more restorative properties.

Phytaoil costs just £10.99 for 60ml and Phytalotion £9.99, Belle+ syrups start from £5.75. For further details visit phytacol.com.
