This year, the luxurious Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli resorts in the Maldives are offering the perfect festive escape with an exciting offering of sparkling celebrations, culturally connected activities, fine-dining and children’s events.

There’s no better way to celebrate the festive season than at these two beautiful properties situated in the stunning surroundings of the crystal clear Indian Ocean.

Jumeirah Vittaveli offers exclusive luxury close to Male for guests searching for an intimate escape or an indulgent family retreat. From 16 December 2014 until 8 January 2015, Jumeirah Vittaveli will provide a host of exciting activities for the entire family to enjoy - from an island Santa Hunt, to outdoor cooking classes and delicious festive brunches.

A charming Festive Market, set in traditionally designed wooden huts, will offer guests the chance to buy locally crafted gifts and embrace the festive spirit with traditional drinks and cookies. A full-size advent calendar display will provide an impressive bac kdrop to the Festive Market. Each compartment on the calendar will hold generous prizes from Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts around the world. On 25 December, guests at Jumeirah Vittaveli can indulge in festive flavours at Mu Beach Bar & Grill, Samsara or Fenesse which will all offer special appearances from Santa.

The intimate and stylish Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is located in an area of extraordinary beauty in the southernmost part of the Maldives. Offering just 22 island villas and an exclusive water village of 16 Ocean Pearls villas, the resort offers a serene escape. Guests can indulge in festive drinks tasting, meditation workshops, and shisha lounging on movie nights. The resort’s three restaurants and bar will also provide a variety of culinary options; from drinks making lessons to a Crustacean grill and ‘A Taste of the South of France’ at Mumayaz. On 25 December guests can dine à la carte in Azara or Johara for a festive meal with all the trimmings. Couples looking to enjoy the romance of the season can also treat themselves to a seafood platter and dinner in their own villa.

On New Year’s Eve, guests from both resorts can bid farewell to 2014 with elegant and exclusive New Year’s Eve Gala Dinners on the beach. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Indian Ocean, guests can dance to the traditional Bodu Beru beats until the clocks strike midnight, when the Maldivian night skies will light up with a wonderful fireworks display, the perfect way to see in the new year.
