When it comes to buying a home, it would seem the features that women look for in a home are not the same as what men want. According to recent research from website NeedaProperty.com, there are differences between the sexes in what features of a property are considered desirable. Househunters looking for somewhere that ticks all the boxes should look to the new family homes at St Irvyne’s in Broadbridge Heath near Horsham.

According to the research, nearly a quarter (24%) of men said a double garage would be a major bonus, compared with just one in seven (14%) women. On the other hand, more than one in five (23%) women said that they would be impressed by a walk-in wardrobe - a feature that just one in 10 (10%) men found desirable. The spacious four and five bedroom homes at St Irvyne’s come fully equipped with both double garages and walk-in wardrobes to keep mum and dad happy and also have space for a playroom for the kids.

Andrew Loveday, Sales and Marketing Director of the New Homes & Communities division at Countryside comments: “We appreciate there can often be different sets of priorities and wish-lists even within the same family when it comes to buying a home, which is why we have thoughtfully designed the homes at St Irvyne’s to appeal to each member of the family. Garages and fitted wardrobes are important features, but the key is designing a home that suits the way a family lives its daily life, with some open plan living areas to spend time together, but also separate rooms where family members can have their own space.”
