The developer responsible for Bath’s largest regeneration project has won two awards for landscaping.

Crest Nicholson Regeneration, which is transforming the old Stothert & Pitt, Engineers and Founders, scooped the honours in the New Homes Garden Awards.

The awards, both silver gilt, were given in the Best Landscaped Urban Development and Best Communal Garden / Landscape categories respectively.

Recognising excellence in landscape and garden design the New Homes Garden Awards are widely regarded as being one of the most respected national programmes to reward those who create innovative and sustainable gardens and landscapes around new and renovated homes.

These latest accolades add to other recent awards including the Sunday Times’ Homebuilder of the Year.

The Best Landscaped Urban Development was awarded to those with the most outstanding example of innovative quality design around an apartment complex and demonstrated the most effective, creative and original use of outdoor space in a contemporary urban setting.

For the Best Communal Garden/Landscape the award was presented to those that had created the very best outdoor living environment for shared use in an urban or rural setting.

Debbie Aplin, Crest Nicholson Regeneration managing director said: “The open space and public realm is just as important as the buildings and homes. They provide an extension to the total living space and we’re delighted to be recognised for our efforts in these important awards.

“Bath Riverside is an excellent example of inner city regeneration and shows that with careful planning, commitment and passion anything can be achieved.

“With its private courtyards, landscaped seating areas and contemporary design it’s easy to see why the judges were impressed.

“The shared communal gardens, herb and sensory gardens and play areas, also make Bath Riverside a stand out development while the landscaped riverside, leads down to a newly constructed riverside walk which has opened up the area allowing for easy, traffic-free, access to the city centre and for the public to experience and enjoy.”

Located on the south bank of the River Avon, Bath Riverside is an exciting new residential development that is transforming a former industrial site that had been derelict for over 25 years. Once complete it will have created over 2000 new homes.

The 44-acre development has been described as being the most important project the world heritage city has seen for more than 100 years, providing new homes and facilities that better reflect the needs of the city.
