Steeped in history and imbued with character, Woolley Hall by Millgate, located near the quintessential village of Littlewick Green in Maidenhead is coming soon to the luxury property market in Spring 2015. Secluded within 33 acres of woodland, this gated development will bring five new substantial detached villas, six new mews houses, as well as a number of restored homes including five houses in the former stable block and six grand apartments in the magnificent Grade II listed Woolley Hall itself.

All residents will be able to enjoy the extensive grounds including the stunning formal gardens, originally designed by the pioneering landscape architect of the Edwardian era, Thomas Mawson, which will finally be restored to their former glory.

Sales and Marketing Director for Millgate, Jonathan Cranley comments: “Woolley Hall is a magnificent site and we are delighted to be renovating the historic 18th century building and gardens, as well as bringing detached family villas and mews houses to this rare gated development. We are going to be renovating all the jacobethan features in preparation for the converted apartments, including ceilings, fireplaces, stained glass windows and wooden panelling ensuring the history of this exciting site is preserved – so it’s with great pride to say it’s our most interesting renovation project to date.”

The newly built and converted properties will be constructed using the finest materials and the latest specifications, with the exceptional skills of Millgate’s master craftsmen using time-honoured techniques.

Expected to release for sale initially will be the first five villas. These are known as the Lilley, Cottingham, Loveday, Dower and Dunn, which are familiar names to those who remember the residents at Woolley Hall. The core of the current Woolley Hall was built by John Loveday in 1780, comprising of a house of three storeys and approximately square in plan. Loveday’s house remained substantially unaltered throughout the ownership of Sir Gilbert East, but it was during the ownership of George Dunn and later Walter Cottingham that the house took on its present form.

Once completed, Woolley Hall will be an exceedingly rare opportunity for homebuyers. Situated close to the quaint village of Littlewick Green residents will have easy access to a range of amenities. The village itself is filled with pretty cottages plus a school and parish church surrounding the sizeable cricket green. The village pub, The Cricketers, also overlooks the cricket green. Also here is 'Redroofs' the Theatre School, which was the former home of Ivor Novello, where many of his most famous works were composed.

Some of the Home Counties’ best-known and most picturesque towns are also within easy reach of Woolley Hall. Residents will have easy access to the quaint riverside pubs and bistros of Windsor and Marlow plus some of the best fine dining in the country, including ‘The Waterside Inn’, a three star Michelin restaurant in nearby Bray.
To be front row at next year’s summer sporting season, residents will be perfectly placed for the Royal Ascot Racecourse which is 14 miles away and Henley Royal Regatta, just 7 miles away by car. Both towns also offer stylish boutiques, independent shops and delicious cafes. For more extensive shopping and leisure facilities, Reading is just 11 miles away by car.

Providing excellent road and rail connections, the A404, M4 and M40 are all easily accessible and a regular train service operates from the nearby Maidenhead Railway station, which is located three miles from the site, transporting passengers into London in just over 30 minutes.

From 2019, residents will be able to reap the rewards of the Crossrail line which will be linking Maidenhead with Essex via London. There will be two trains per hour from Reading calling at Twyford, Maidenhead, Slough and Ealing Broadway to Paddington. The new trains are set to provide a world class rail service to Bond Street in 40 minutes and Canary Wharf in under an hour, with access to Heathrow Central in 25 minutes.
