Property-seekers will soon be offered a host of fresh opportunities to purchase a Taylor Wimpey home in Bridgwater, Somerset – after the leading housebuilder was granted permission for a brand new residential development.

Sedgemoor District Council has approved Taylor Wimpey’s planning application to build 67 high-quality homes at Kings Down, a thriving new community which is taking shape on the north-eastern edge of the town.

The development will comprise a combination of two, three and four-bedroom homes to suit a range of purchasers, from first-time buyers and downsizers through to growing families.

Taylor Wimpey aims to begin work on the development in March and with the first new homes expected to be released for sale in January, would-be homebuyers are urged to register their interest today to receive their VIP invitation to the launch.

Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We are delighted to have received planning approval for this exciting development, which will provide a superb selection of new homes in Bridgwater as well as investment for the local community.

“We are very much looking forward to beginning work on these high-quality new homes, and will keep aspiring purchasers in Bridgwater up to date with the latest sales information as soon as it becomes available.

“In the meantime, property-seekers can register their details with us to ensure they are among the first in line to choose from the initial selection of properties when they are released for sale in January.”

As well as offering an exceptional range of new homes at the forthcoming development, Taylor Wimpey will have a choice of helpful homebuyer incentives available to make purchasing easier and more affordable.

The Help to Buy scheme, for example, means first-time buyers and those with a property to sell can access a 20% Government loan towards the cost of their new home – so they only require a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage.

Kings Down is a popular new neighbourhood which is delivering new homes and community facilities in a well-connected location, with the famous 12m-high Willow Man sculpture forming a striking focal point for the community.

A new school – Willowdown Primary Academy – opened at the development in September 2014 while the newly opened Bridgewater Community Hospital is less than a mile away.

Bridgwater town centre is within easy reach of the new homes for an excellent choice of shops supermarkets, restaurants and pubs, as well as a lively music scene.

Meanwhile, the stunning scenery and wildlife of the Quantock Hills and the picturesque beauty of the Somerset Levels are right on the doorstep.

For commuters, junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are easily accessible from the new homes, while Bridgwater railway station is only 1.5 miles away for direct services to Bristol and Cardiff.
