New build homes built to current regulations could see purchasers save up to 55%, or £1,300 a year, on gas and electricity costs as opposed to running an ‘upgraded’ Victorian property according to analysis by the National House-Building Council (NHBC) and Zero Carbon Hub.

Buyers looking for an energy efficient home, should look at the excellent properties available at Stonechat Mews being built by Countryside in Dartford. Perfect for a wide range of buyers, including first time buyers, families and people wishing to downsize. The development features three and four bedroom houses with a good specification, which have all been built to meet the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, ensuring they are more energy efficient and cost effective than older properties.

Andrew Day, Director of Architecture, Design and Sustainability at Countryside comments: “The houses at Stonechat Mews have all been designed to reflect the historic landscape and traditional architecture of the local area. They have been constructed using the most up-to-date building methods and are highly energy and water efficient to really bring our customer’s bills down. On average a Countryside home is 6.5 times more energy efficient than one built just 30 years ago.”

The Rosefinch house design at Stonechat Mews is a three storey, four bedroom detached house boasting excellent green credentials. Each property includes an energy efficient boiler and central heating system to reduce energy use and costs for purchasers.

Priced from £375,950 the Rosefinch is an attractive property set over three storeys. On the ground floor, the entrance to the home leads to a contemporary fitted kitchen which comes equipped with the full range of integrated appliances. Also accessible is a separate downstairs cloakroom. Adjacent to the kitchen is the large living / dining area with double doors leading out into the spacious garden.

On the first floor, two single bedrooms have access to a family bathroom, which boasts quality white sanitaryware, chrome accessories and ceramic tiling with luxurious finishes. Also included on this floor is the guest double bedroom, providing the flexible option to use it as a separate living area for the children, or as a home office.

A retreat on the third floor, the master bedroom with an adjoining en-suite, offers the perfect getaway from the rest of the house. Again this bedroom could be easily swapped with the guest bedroom, as older children may need a bedroom on a separate floor.

Each property enjoys stunning views of the former Stone House Hospital, has flooring fitted throughout, dedicated parking spaces, with some properties offering a double garage or car port. Outside, the homes feature a fully turfed rear garden with patio.

Stonechat Mews is a collection of just 28 three and four bedroom newly built houses and 10 two and three bedroom refurbished apartments located within a beautiful setting. Residents will be able to enjoy the green space directly around them as well as the open spaces of Darenth Country Park and Darenth Wood just on their doorstep.’

Its location for amenities could not be better. One of Europe’s largest shopping malls, it boasts over 300 stores and a luxurious 13 screen multiplex cinema, along with a plethora of restaurants and cafés.

An impressive 17 minutes to London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet International station is just a short car or bus journey away and also offers Eurostar services to the Continen.
