Taylor Wimpey is inviting people to have their say on its proposals to create a new residential development and a substantial area of public open space in Hook, Hampshire.

The leading housebuilder is currently preparing a detailed planning application for 60 new homes on land at High Ridge Farm, off Brown Croft, on the western edge of Hook.

The plans also include a large 5.4-hectare area of open space, known as a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG), and will be for residents and the public to enjoy.

The site already benefits from outline planning permission, which means the planning authority, Hart District Council, has accepted the principle of developing the land.

Taylor Wimpey’s proposals will be displayed during a public exhibition taking place at Elizabeth Hall in Raven Road, Hook, on Tuesday 25th November between 2pm and 7pm.

This public consultation event will give local residents, businesses, community groups and other interested parties the opportunity to find out more about the scheme and discuss the plans with the Taylor Wimpey project team.

Feedback received from those attending the event will be used to help Taylor Wimpey refine its development proposals before a detailed planning application is submitted to Hart District Council in the near future.

Jonathan Miller, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We want to give local people the chance to have their say on our development proposals and by taking part in this public consultation, residents can help to influence our scheme before our planning application is finalised for submission.

“Those visiting our public exhibition on Tuesday 25th November will be able to speak to the Taylor Wimpey project team to find out more, as well as tell us how they think our development should look and let us know their aspirations and priorities for the proposed scheme.”

The proposed development site comprises 8.39 hectares (21 acres) of greenfield land located to the west of Brown Croft.

In May 2014, Taylor Wimpey received outline planning permission for the development of up to 60 new homes on the site, together with enhancements to an existing conservation area and the provision of 5.4 hectares of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG). A new vehicle and pedestrian access to the site from Brown Croft was also approved.

The public consultation is taking place on Tuesday 25th November between 2pm and 7pm at Elizabeth Hall, Raven Road, Hook, RG27 9HH.

Those unable to make the event will be able to download information presented at the exhibition by visiting taylorwimpey.co.uk/hook from Tuesday 25th November.
