Get set for the annual Dubai Shopping Festival in January

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2015, the Dubai Shopping Festival takes place between 1 January and 1 February and is the largest shopping and entertainment extravaganza in the Middle East. Drawing visitors from across the globe, it kicks off Dubai’s annual events calendar with international artists, musicals, sports, outdoor adventure and fashion events.

The Dubai Shopping Festival will see prices slashed in thousands of shops across the city and mega prizes are given away to lucky shoppers, including luxury cars, apartments and even cash. Parks and precincts become outdoor theatres, attracting audiences in their thousands with family shows featuring children’s favourites, gravity defying gymnastic performances, ballet displays and Bollywood bands to name but a few. 

Locations such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, as well as Zabeel Park, Kite Beach and the massive Global Village, play host to exciting street carnivals celebrating the family spirit of the festival and the mixing of many different cultures. Head to Al Seef Street or Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard to watch parades of over 1,000 street performers including artists, musicians, dancers, acrobats, stilt walkers, gymnasts and many more.
