Romance on a tandem!

Few destinations are as romantic as the New Forest with plenty of well-marked trails to enjoy a good walk, with the famous ponies and donkeys for company along the way, and many cosy pubs with roaring fires to warm up in, and enjoy a well-earned drink.

Cottage Lodge, the award-winning small hotel in Brockenhurst has created a special two-night Valentine’s package with the big day itself falling on a Saturday in 2015.

The hotel’s bedrooms have been individually designed and many are furnished with items including beds and dressing tables hand-made from fallen New Forest trees – so you are literally sleeping in the forest!

The property’s status has recently changed from a B&B – which won countless awards for its green credentials – to a small hotel with the opening of the Fallen Tree Restaurant, which has already been ranked number two out of 49 restaurants in the area from over 200 reviews on Trip Advisor.

Brockenhurst is in the heart of the New Forest and ideally situated for exploring many of the well-known places of interest including the Palace, Motor Museum and Abbey at Beaulieu, Buckler’s Hard, Exmore Gardens and the capital town, Lyndhurst.

The best way in which to explore the forest is by bike, and Cottage Lodge has recently acquired some brand new Raleigh Wayfarers for the use of guests and also two Viking Regency tandems for couples who really can’t bear to be apart!

The two-night package, arriving on Friday 13 February, costs from £170 pp which includes two nights’ B&B in a four-poster bed room (with a Buck’s Fizz breakfast on Saturday 14th), two hours on either a tandem or one seat bike, a late check-out of noon on Sunday 15th and free off road parking.
