Bellway Homes has launched a brand new, professionally designed showhome The Foxlease at its Silk Meadows development in the picturesque market town of Braintree, Essex.

Surrounded by the idyllic Essex countryside, from which the show home designer, Ed O’Donnell, has taken his inspiration, the show home is beautifully styled with a modern specification, highlighting the best that the homes have to offer.

The development includes a variety of two, three, four and five bedroom new homes ideal for first time buyers, growing families and downsizers, with excellent local amenities and an abundance of outdoor space.

Karen Coulson, Sales Director at Bellway Homes Essex said of the new show home: “The interiors of a show home are paramount to showing the houses at their best. They illustrate to a potential purchaser how the space can be used, and that a family home needn’t lack style. We would urge interested buyers to come down and view the new home, and see how your family could enjoy living in one of our new homes here.”

Ed O'Donnell Interior Designer at Design O.D, who created the stunning show home at Silk Meadows, explains: “we designed the showhome with the area and name in mind, styling the rooms like a meadow. The colour scheme of the downstairs gives the impression of a sunny, buttercup filled field with greens, yellows, whites and browns, with artwork of beautiful countryside scenes and photography of hedgerow birds. It’s tranquil but uplifting.”

“The wallpaper in both downstairs rooms are meadow-like, with ‘cow parsley’ print in the living room and a digital print of a real meadow in the kitchen, with gorgeous hues of blue and purple. We gave a little nod to the cows that would graze in the meadow, with black and white features and cow print chairs, along with the recycled milk bottle chandelier.”

He continues: “The bedrooms all have their own character, but continue the meadow theme from downstairs. The master bedroom contrasts distressed wood furnishings with delicate porcelain and crystal light fittings. The heather tones of the mohair throw are counterbalanced with the turquoise leather headboard and crisp waffle bed linen; all of these textures and colours give the whole room a relaxed, yet contemporary, country house retreat feel.”

“The little girl’s room is based on another version of a meadow- the type you can spend a summer’s holiday in, so we added a retro style caravan bed complete with all the storage for possessions needed for a trip, including books and toys. The wallpaper has a woodland effect, to give the effect of being on the edge of the meadow, with the odd friendly owl and rabbit for company. The other child’s bedroom is aimed at the little cowboy of the house, with faux cow hide wallpaper contrasting against the metal bed frame and vintage cowboy print duvet set.”

Silk Meadows enjoys a great location to enjoy all that Braintree has to offer. Nearby the 100 acre Great Notley Discovery Centre and Country Park is a superb option for an outdoor family day out with play trail, fishing and cycle hire. Hedingham Castle also holds a variety of annual events, and neighbouring Stisted is home to Braintree Golf Club, the third oldest course in Essex.

For families, there are plenty of nursery, infant and secondary schools close by. Both John Ray Infant School and Notley High School are within walking distance, and Beckers Green Primary School is around two miles away. Several outstanding private schools are also nearby, with Felsted and Gosfield Schools in neighbouring villages for pupils aged from 4 to 18.

Silk Meadows is just a short walk from Braintree Freeport station where direct trains to London Liverpool Street take 55 minutes and Witham in 15 minutes, which offers regular connections to London in 45 minutes. Located a short drive from the A120, the development is also 20 minutes to the M11, with links to the M25 for travel further afield. For frequent fliers, Stansted Airport can be reached in 20 minutes.

Prices at Silk Meadows start from £209,995 for a two bedroom-, £249,995 for a three bedroom-, and from £309,995 for a four bedroom home, and all the homes are available with the Government backed Help to Buy scheme. For more information, visit bellway.co.uk.
