Schools in Northamptonshire will benefit from a windfall of more than £500,000 as part of plans for new homes in Broughton.

Award-winning homebuilder Redrow has detailed consent to build 60 homes on land at Cox’s Lane and will also be investing almost £750,000 in the local community.

Work on the development, known as Cransley Green, will start early in the new year and will see the 8.8 acre site, transformed into a highly desirable new neighbourhood.

John Mann, managing director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), explains: “Cransley Green is less than six miles away from our Barton Park development in Barton Seagrave, where homes on two phases - Castle Fields and River View - are proving extremely popular. We’re looking forward to starting work on Cransley Green and giving homebuyers in Broughton the chance to purchase a property from our Heritage Collection.

“We’re committed to ensuring our developments are sustainable and as such we’ve pledged to invest almost £750,000 in the community in the Broughton area. As we’re building family homes, we’ll be contributing almost £530,000 towards local schools. We’ll also be supporting community facilities including gifting more than £14,000 to the library.”

Redrow will also pay more than £70,000 towards highways and finance bus vouchers to the tune of £9,000 – equivalent to £150 per home.

Contributions will also be made to the fire and rescue service and for the provision and maintenance of open space.

Cransley Green will offer 42 homes for private sale ranging in size from two to five bedrooms. The remaining 18 properties will be affordable homes for local housing needs.

The first properties are due to be released for sale in March.

Buyers can register their interest in the homes now by visiting redrow.co.uk/developments/cransley-green.
