Part exchange gives Abbotswood buyers a step up

The Council of Mortgage Lenders has revealed that mortgages for ‘second steppers’ are at the highest level in seven years. A total of £32.4bn was advanced to 188,000 consumers buying a property during the three months to the end of September, the highest level on both measures for any quarter since 2007.

With this increase in lending, consumer confidence in taking that second step to a new home is on the rise.
