The exclusive Staiths South Bank development in Dunston is experiencing an upsurge in apartment sales thanks to recent stamp duty reforms, according to homebuilder Taylor Wimpey.

The development’s stylish and spacious apartments feature two large bedrooms, a lounge and fitted kitchen, with prices starting from just £124,995.

Following the reforms, properties worth under £125,000 no longer require stamp duty; and the developer is urging home-seekers to head to the development to avoid missing out.

Karl Morton, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North East says: “These apartments boast space and comfort, alongside modern designs, making them perfect for buyers looking to get that first step on the property ladder.

“In addition to benefiting from the change in stamp duty fees, our financial incentives such as Help to Buy, mean purchasers can secure brand-new homes without breaking the bank for a deposit as well.”

Through the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, eligible buyers can reserve properties worth up to £600,000 with just five per cent deposit; while also benefiting from a 20 per cent equity loan.

Staiths South Bank is located on Team Street in Dunston, Gateshead and offers a range of amenities nearby, in addition to excellent commuter access to the A1(M).

Karl continues: “It’s fantastic that the confidence we were already witnessing from the first-time buyer market thanks to Help to Buy, is now buoyed further with this reform.

“I would urge anybody on the market in Gateshead to get in touch sooner rather than later, to avoid any disappointment.”
