Award-winning housebuilder Redrow has acquired 28 acres of land off Shutterton Lane in Dawlish Warren, with outline planning permission for up to 276 houses.

The development is being released in four phases and will consist of a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, which will appeal to everyone as it combines the traditional with the contemporary.

The first two phases will offer 74 family homes and 32 affordable properties. The site is estimated for completion in 2018 but the first houses could be ready to move into as early as autumn this year.

The new development, which will be known as Warren Grove, follows on from the success of other Redrow sites in Devon, including Bishops Court and The Harringtons in Exeter, Howton Rise in Newton Abbot and Otter Grange in Ottery St Mary.

Philippa Attwood, area sales manager for Redrow West Country, said: “We are extremely pleased to have acquired this fantastic development site. Warren Grove has an enviable location, close to the vibrant and historic university city of Exeter. From Dawlish you are well connected with direct rail links to Exeter, Plymouth and London. Exeter International Airport also offers flights within the UK and Europe for business and leisure.”

This historic seaside town is surrounded by beautiful countryside, offering a lifestyle to suit everyone and plenty of amenities within close proximity, including two primary schools, doctors’ surgery and local shops.

There is plenty to see and do in Dawlish, whether that is lying on the beach, chilling in the park or enjoying one of the many beautiful coastal walks. Sporting activities include Dawlish Leisure Centre, Warren Golf Club and the Marina Bowling Club. Also available are the Dawlish Lawn Tennis Club and Teignmouth Golf Club.
