A Beginner’s Guide to Vaser Lipo Surgery

6th May 2015 Print

The very mention of liposuction is usually enough to bring to mind rather brutal images of harsh surgical procedures, which although effective have long been less-than ideal for a multitude of reasons. However, it’s important to remember that fat removal procedures have been carried out for decades now and have with each passing year been honed, refined and generally stepped up to a whole new standard.

Nowadays, it’s becoming increasingly popular for patients to seek out Vaser Lipo in London rather than the ‘traditional’ kind, having become known as the new standard for effective fat reduction with greatly fewer unpleasant side-effects and risk factors.

How Does it Work?

Though the science behind the technique is extremely precise and complex, the basic principle is wonderfully simple. Vaser Lipo differs from the conventional variety in that it utilises the careful targeting of ultrasonic energy, which transforms the unwanted fat cells into a liquid in order to then be removed using a comparatively small cannula. The technique doesn’t generate any heat and nor does it require the rather aggressive ‘sucking’ out of the fat characteristic of traditional Lipo.

Prior to the introduction of Vaser Lipo, the subject of a whole was one of quite some controversy. Even in the hands of the most skilled surgeons in practice, the process would inevitably be one of rather severe pain, long-term discomfort and a generally unpleasant experience from beginning to end. This is precisely why so many patients these days are not only choosing Vaser Lipo as an alternative, but actually being strongly recommended by their doctors to choose the modern alternative to traditional Lipo. Along with delivering outstanding results, the treatment process isn’t nearly as unpleasant as traditional Lipo and the recovery period following the procedure can be exponentially shorter.

Minimal Side Effects

Vaser Lipo began gaining traction as something of a new bar-setter for the cosmetic surgery immediately after its introduction, having shown remarkable potential for keeping side-effects to an absolute minimum. Even those that had previously warned against undergoing Lipo were in many instances highly supportive of the development of the Vaser technique, which has proven to be infinitely more accurate, more effective and generally less unpleasant for patients across the board.

What sets Vaser Lipo in a league of its own compared to more dated fat removal techniques is the way in which it can be targeted extremely precisely and thus to not have any ill-effects on the cells surrounding the fat to be removed. As such, less damage is caused to the area surrounding the targeted fat reduction region which speeds up recovery times and reduces discomfort. In addition, the skin itself around the area treated using the Vaser Lipo technique is left considerably firmer and healthier in general that would be possible with traditional suction methods. Fatigue and discomfort are minimised both during and after the treatment, aftercare is made much easier and the final result is always head and shoulders above what would be possible with traditional Lipo.

Head to Toe Results

One of the other key benefits of Vaser Lipo is the way in which the highly-targeted technique can be used all over the body to help bring about a slimmer, firmer and better-defined shape where required. This was one of the main reasons why Vaser was developed in the first place as while traditional suction could be effective around the abdomen, its potential for use across the rest of the body was and is rather limited. What’s more, the side-effects associated with traditional Lipo were often too severe to consider using it on the more sensitive areas of the body.

By contrast, Vaser Lipo has proven to be nothing short of revolutionary for fat reduction across the whole body. From the larger fat deposits around the waist to the smaller areas around the neck and arms, Vaser can be targeted incredibly precisely for spectacular results. Where necessary, the power of Vaser Lipo is quite extraordinary with the potential to remove up to two-litres of fat in a single treatment session.

Today, cosmetic surgeons are throwing their full support behind Vaser Lipo for their own patients with the vast majority now recommending it above all traditional fat removal treatment options. They’re of course as keen as ever to remind patients that surgery should never be used as a replacement for healthy living, plenty of exercise and sensible dietary habits, but when and where that stubborn patch of fat will just not budge, Vaser Lipo is an option without compare.
