A leading housebuilder is preparing to say farewell to a Bedfordshire town as a landmark development nears completion.

Persimmon Homes has released the final phase of properties at its Persimmon Court site, bringing to an end a relationship that spans more than six years.

The development has seen hundreds of new families set up home in the popular town, with more than 600 properties sold at the site, just a mile from the town centre.

Debbie Box, sales manager for Persimmon Midlands, said: “We always approach the end of a development with mixed feelings – joy at completing a project and seeing so many people settled into their new homes, but also a little sadness when we have been part of the local community for several years, as we have been here.

“Leighton Buzzard is a superb location – close to open countryside and outdoor leisure space, but also ideally placed for the motorway network so residents can conveniently commute to work or a wider range of shopping.

“Over the past six years we have sold more than 600 homes at Persimmon Court and our neighbouring Charles Church Willow Chase site. We have seen the development evolve over a number of years and it is now becoming a lovely established community.

“Now there are just a handful of properties available and then that’s it.”

The homes range from one and two bedroom apartments to three and four bedroom houses, with prices starting at £149,950.

Debbie added: “We have enjoyed getting to know the town and its people, and will miss being part of such a vibrant community.

“But all good things come to an end and we have some superb offers and assistance packages available for the remaining properties, including the incredibly popular Help to Buy and part exchange schemes to help people who need to sell their existing home.”
