Developer Lovell Homes will host a special event for first-time buyers at its Eden Valley development in Walsall on Saturday, 20 June, from 10am to 5pm, offering expert advice about getting on to the property ladder.

An independent financial advisor and the Lovell sales team will be available to talk through options for making home ownership more affordable – including the Government-backed Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme.

The Help to Buy scheme has proved a major boost for first-time buyers enabling homeseekers to secure a brand-new home with just a five per cent cash deposit and 75 per cent mortgage by accessing a 20 per cent equity loan from the Government.

Ideal first homes

Homeseekers will also be able to find out about the range of modern and stylish two-bedroom houses – ideal first homes – which are currently available from Lovell at Eden Valley, a tremendous location only just over a mile from Walsall’s busy town centre and offering excellent connections to transport routes across the Midlands and beyond.

Lovell field sales manager Sian Lewin says: “When looking for your first home it’s really important to have all the information you need to make the right decision. The First-Time Buyer event is a chance to get free financial advice and guidance on schemes such as Help to Buy which are designed to make it easier to buy your first home. Visitors will also be able to find out more about the properties now available at Eden Valley where we have some fantastic two-bedroom homes, starting from as low as £124,950 (or £99,960 after a Help to Buy Equity loan).”

Homes currently available at Eden Valley include the Keinton mid-terraced home at a full price of £124,950, which means there’s zero stamp duty to pay. This home’s attractive ground-floor accommodation comprises a smart, modern kitchen (with Bosch oven and hob), cloakroom and generous living / dining room with French doors to the garden. On the first floor is the master bedroom, which benefits from a fitted wardrobe, second bedroom and a family bathroom. The property comes with two parking spaces.

The company’s Gayton end-terrace home, equipped with driveway parking for two vehicles, is on offer for £131,950 (£105,560 after a Help to Buy Equity Loan). The ground floor of the Gayton features a kitchen / dining room and a separate living room with French doors to the garden as well as a hall and cloakroom. Upstairs is the master bedroom, with both en-suite and fitted wardrobe, as well as the second bedroom and family bathroom.

This is a development proving popular with homebuyers thanks to the opportunity it offers to settle into a ready-made community close to the thriving town centre. Four rail stations provide direct travel to Birmingham New Street, while Walsall’s main rail station is only a mile away and junction 10 of the M6 is within three miles. Walsall itself offers plenty of green space plus excellent retail and leisure facilities.

The First-Time Buyer event will take place from 10am to 5pm at the Eden Valley marketing suite in Beddows Road, Walsall WS3 1QB. The marketing suite is open on Mondays from 11am to 5pm and from Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit lovellnewhomes.co.uk.
