A southern based truck dealership has been awarded the top spot at the Isuzu Dealer Challenge 2015, held this June at Isuzu head office in Hatfield.

MC Truck and Bus, a dealer for Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd in the south of England, faced strong competition from across the UK. The Maidstone team, where the companies’ head office is based, prevailed to be named the overall winners.

The Isuzu Dealer Challenge invites its dealerships to take part in a set of assessments to test their ability to deliver the highest level of customer service and technical expertise. After 44 teams entered the initial stages the top six were given the opportunity to compete in the final.

The competition is divided into two categories, one focused on aftermarket and dealers that offer Isuzu parts and servicing and the other for dealers with both Isuzu sales and aftermarket responsibilities in the full dealer status.

The MC Maidstone team were victorious in the full dealership category where rounds consisted of truck sales, parts, customer care and workshop technical. Each task designed to assess Isuzu Trucks’ core values.

MC Group Dealer Principal, Peter Booth said “we are absolutely thrilled by our teams’ performance, it shows clear dedication from all our departments to provide an outstanding service to our customers.”

“Not only does this show the wealth of knowledge our employees have but also how committed they are to ensuring every customer receives the best possible treatment across the board. We have the skills and knowledge to do this and I am extremely proud of the team.”

“Isuzu is such an integral part of our business and to know we are working to such high standards and delivering core values really is a great achievement.”

The MC Southampton team also made it to the final in the parts and service category, where they were awarded third place.

“To have not one, but two teams make it to the final is a real privilege and just helps to strengthen our consistent level of service across the company” says Booth.

A further prize was given to MC Maidstone technician Simon Abnett, one of two recipients of the technician award, after being judged in the competitions’ technical skills elements. He will now be representing the UK at Isuzu’s worldwide showcase technical event, the I-1 World Grandprix, held annually in Japan.

“Simon represented our technicians brilliantly, and to have one of our own employees represent us on an international level is an excellent success story” added Booth.

Isuzu Truck’s Managing Director, Peter Murphy, said of the win; “I am totally delighted with the relationship that exists between our two companies. It’s a relationship that started over 10 years ago and continues to go from strength to strength. The Maidstone dealership competed well in last year’s competition and came in 2nd place, to win this year demonstrates the team’s commitment to our brand, our values and ultimately success.”
