Oyez, Oyez – house builder Linden Homes North had plenty to shout about at its recent VIP show home opening in Pocklington.

Already popular, The Balk development received its official unveiling at the weekend, with civic dignitaries, invited guests and potential buyers among those attending the special event.

Town crier Geoff Shearsby – along with mayor Cllr Martin Ratcliffe and mayoress Elinda Ratcliffe – were among the many guests who were given a tour around the development’s wonderful new show home.

There was also the opportunity for visitors to enter a free draw to win one of a number of prizes donated by local businesses – including a glider flight over the town.

And while the ribbon cutting marked the official launch of the site, interest in the homes has been growing since the start of the year, with a number having already been reserved off plan.

Linden Homes North sales manager Julie Hubbard said: “We’ve seen a huge interest in this development from the start, and are delighted to have already welcomed a number of residents.

“We have a number of new homes which are ready to move into now, and others which won’t be completed until later in the year – giving potential buyers the chance to reserve from plan and select their preferred plot from the drawing board.”

The Balk – located close to Linden Homes’ existing Wilberforce Manor development – will boast a collection of two, three and four-bedroom traditionally inspired homes.

The selection will also showcase a number of new designs, with the development appealing to first time buyers, young professionals and families.

A number of initiatives are also available to help curb the cost of moving to a brand new home in a sought after location in East Riding.

These range from Help to Buy – where buyers need just a minimum five per cent deposit – to Part Exchange, the perfect scheme for those who have an existing property to sell.

Steeped in history, the market town of ‘Pock’ is perfectly positioned at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

It’s perfect position means that Pocklington is considered a commuter town for York (which is just 13 miles away) and less than an hour from Hull and Leeds.
