New credit card from the AA

28th July 2015 Print

The card – which does not have an associated annual fee – is available now.

The card comes with contactless payment technology which can speed up payments under £20 and can also be used to help people travel around London on public transport.

Cardholders can manage their account on the go, through a mobile servicing app.

Kathryn Thomas, Director of AA Financial Services said: “We’re very pleased to offer this new card.

“It’s a ‘two-in-one’ card and enables cardholders to spread the cost of large purchases as well as save money on existing credit and store card balances.

“We expect this credit card to have a lot of interest in the market due to its competitive interest free periods.”

Commenting on the AA’s move into financial products, with the launch of a new credit card Nicolas Frankcom, money expert at uSwitch.com, says: “"The AA is dipping its toes into the financial world once again, hoping that a new partnership with the Bank of Ireland will make it a real contender.

“While the breakdown giant will need to step it up a gear to attract those looking for market leading 0% deals, its first credit card is a decent all-rounder, offering 20 months on 0% on balance transfers and purchases.

"The card also offers sweeteners like a discount on European Breakdown Cover and access to member benefits, but it's a shame full UK breakdown cover isn't included."

The AA Dual Credit Card also offers cardholders a 40% discount on AA European Breakdown Cover across a range of single trip and annual multi trip policies to suit cardholders needs.

Those looking to apply for an AA Dual Credit Card can do so online and will receive an instant decision.
