Aspiring homeowners in Bourne, Lincolnshire, are being offered the chance to swap rented accommodation for their very own dream home at Taylor Wimpey’s Oak Spring Gardens – and potentially save money in the process!

The leading housebuilder is inviting buyers to find out more about the popular Help to Buy scheme, where property-seekers can secure a Government loan for 20% of their new home’s full price – so they only need a loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit of just 5%.

The average monthly cost of renting a two-bedroom property in the Bourne area is £517, yet with two-bedroom starter homes priced from just £132,995 at Oak Spring Gardens, Help to Buy customers at the development can look forward to comparable – or potentially even lower – mortgage repayments each month.

Nick Upex, Regional Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Many people living in rented accommodation wrongly assume that the first rung of the property ladder is out of their reach, either because they think they’ll need a huge deposit or because they’re concerned they won’t be able to afford the mortgage – or both.

“Help to Buy eliminates the need for big deposits and allows customers to benefit from a lower loan-to-value mortgage as well. That means home-ownership isn’t just achievable for many would-be buyers – it could also work out to be cheaper than the cost of their monthly rent!”

Help to Buy is available with new-build properties up to the value of £600,000. There is no salary cap for customers using the scheme and it is available to both first-time buyers and those with a property to sell.

The two-bedroom terraced ‘Appleford’, priced from £132,995 is just one of the high-quality homes available under Help to Buy at Oak Spring Gardens.

Ideal for first-time buyers, it features a spacious kitchen/living/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, with a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway. Upstairs, the landing leads to two double bedrooms and a bathroom, while there are two allocated parking spaces outside.

Alternatively, the two-bedroom ‘Belford’, priced from £137,995, features an open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining room and guest cloakroom on the groundfloor, two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, and parking for two cars outside.

Three-bedroom houses are also available, priced from just £147,995.

Oak Spring Gardens is located in the market town of Bourne, on the edge of The Fens. Bourne is steeped in history with no less than 71 listed buildings occupying the parish, including Bourne Abbey and Baldock’s Mill, a former water mill which now houses the town’s heritage centre.

The town also boasts a range of high street and independent shops and supermarkets, while those seeking entertainment can choose from a number of bars and traditional pubs.

To find out more about Help to Buy at Oak Spring Gardens, house-hunters can visit the Sales Centre, located off Raymond Mays Way/A151, Bourne, Lincolnshire, PE10 0FY, and open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
