As property wealth flows out of London, desirable commuter towns are poised to take top spot, with Kent in particular outperforming the City and predicted to continue to do so over the next five years. Indeed, recent research by Savills reported that commuter towns have been the first to benefit from this ripple effect as values increased by 4.0% over the past year, outperforming price growth in both villages and the countryside.

However, with many families reluctant to leave their urban lifestyles completely behind, market towns such as Bromley that offer good transport links and excellent retail and leisure facilities as well as prestigious property opportunities are now top of the purchaser’s list.

A development that is already proving extremely popular with homebuyers looking for town and country living is Millgate’s luxury development at Sundridge Park, the iconic country estate created by arguably England’s greatest architect and landscape gardener John Nash and Humphrey Repton. Here, the award winning developer is creating a collection of 14 luxury townhouses, 25 apartments and two detached mansions set in what was, two hundred years ago, known as the finest address in Kent.

“Bromley has become a very desirable commuter town and Sundridge Park is scoring highly with those discerning homebuyers looking for a luxurious home set within an idyllic and iconic location, whilst also being able to take advantage of all the many benefits that a thriving market town such as Bromley offers.” says Jonathan Cranley, Sales and Marketing Director for Millgate. “All the homes have been designed to evoke the grandeur of a bygone age and fit sympathetically into their historic environment, whilst also offering stylish and modern accommodation to suit today’s buyer.”

The show home at Sundridge Park is an impressive four-bedroom townhouse set over three floors and designed with the discerning purchaser in mind, with generous proportions and contemporary touches. An impressive entrance hall leads on to a large open-plan kitchen/dining/family room which, with its central island and seating area, offers perfect space for all the family, whilst a generously sized first floor drawing room leads on to a private terrace, an ideal spot to take advantage of the beautiful views.

The top of the range kitchen offers quartz worktops, a range of integrated appliances including a microwave oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and wine chiller whilst underfloor heating, beautifully finished Villeroy & Boch bathrooms and built-in wardrobes are all included as standard. Master bedrooms boast enviable proportions and comprise an en suite, whilst all other bedrooms are generously sized and well appointed.

Reached via a half-mile secluded driveway, the classical landscape of Sundridge Park was one of Repton’s early masterpieces, designed to complement the Grade I listed Nash mansion. These glorious gardens and grounds are being fully restored for residents to enjoy. They will also be able to take advantage of the grounds and facilities of Sundridge Park Golf Club, which offers two championship golf courses.

With quality independent schools and shopping nearby, residents will be spoilt for choice. Rail connections into Central London from nearby Elmstead Woods station reach Charing Cross in just over 20 minutes, whilst the M25 motorway, as well as Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports, are all within easy reach.

Prices start at £695,000 for an apartment and £1,250,000 for a townhouse. The two detached mansions are priced at £3,095,000 and £3,250,000. For more information, email sundridgepark[at]savills.com.
