Research from Lloyds bank reveals that homeowners value the kitchen as the most important room in the house, with one in six saying this is where the family spend the most time together. Understanding the preference and convenience for open-plan living, especially in the Capital where space is at a premium, Bellway is offering a selection of modern homes with open plan kitchens perfect for quality family time, at their development The Brackens in Welling, South East London.

Launching in late autumn, The Brackens will be a collection of brand new three and four bedroom family homes in the London Borough of Bexley. Located within a quiet cul-de-sac, all properties are designed to be functional and practical for today’s busy family lifestyles. Spacious kitchens, living and dining areas are sure to be the hub of the home, ideal for coming together and playing, or relaxing at the end of the day.

Peter Knights, Sales Director of Bellway Homes Thames Gateway, comments: “The homes at The Brackens will become a fantastic addition to what is an increasingly expanding community in South East London. We understand the growing need for spacious rooms at home, and our contemporary houses will meet those needs. The first selection of homes are now available for reservation so we urge potential purchasers to act fast!”

As well as the fantastic practical space in these new homes, the selection of schools in the surrounding area make them perfectly located for growing families. Nearby primary schools include Eastcote Primary, Bishop Ridley CE Primary and Hook Lane Primary schools, and for older pupils, Welling School, Harris Academy Falconwood and Bexley Grammar are all within five miles from The Brackens.

Residents will never be short of things to do, as nearby Welling High Street offers a good selection of well-known brands, independent retailers, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, while just three miles east Bexleyheath is home to the Broadway Shopping Centre, nine-screen Cineworld cinema, and a variety of bars and restaurants. For more extensive retail options, Bluewater is just a 20 minute drive from home and boasts over 300 stores and more than 60 eateries, as well as 16-screen cinema and exhibition centre.

For more relaxed leisure options, the area surrounding The Brackens enjoys an abundance of open space, including Oxleas Wood and East Wickham, while Danson Park covers more than 180 acres and offers a boating lake for watersports and fishing, tennis courts, football pitches, mini golf and children’s playground. It is also home to a nature reserve, boat house Danson Stables restaurant, an 18th century mansion and annual Danson Festival.

For commuters, The Brackens is well placed, with Welling station offering train journeys into London Victoria in 36 minutes. Ebbsfleet International Train Station is a 20 minute drive away, offering Eurostar services to Paris, Lille and Brussels, while London City Airport is nine miles away. By road, the A2 offers access to the A205 South Circular and the M25 for journeys further afield.

Prices are to be announced at the launch. Register your interest online now at bellway.co.uk and launch information will be emailed closer to the event.
