With the equivalent to more than 14 enquiries per home, the launch of Oaklands Park in Thundersley is being tipped to be a roaring success.

More than 800 people have registered their interest in just 57 private sale properties being built by Redrow on land at Kiln Road. The first homes at Oaklands Park will be released for sale ‘off plan’ via Countryside Estates in Benfleet this Saturday (March 19).

Richard Buxton, from Countryside Estates, said: “We’re looking forward to the sales launch of Oaklands Park as it’s a new development for the area, giving homebuyers more to choose from. Between our offices and Redrow we’ve taken hundreds of enquiries from prospective purchasers. The smaller properties in particular have attracted keen interest from those looking for their first home. Based on the volume of people who’ve registered their interest, demand is expected to be high.”

Oaklands Park will offer three, four and five-bedroom homes with prices for the four and five-bedroom properties due to be announced at the launch. Designs are from the sought-after Heritage Collection, which combines traditional Arts & Crafts inspired architecture and high specification, modern interiors.

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “Initially we’ll be selling the properties ‘off plan’ as we work towards opening show homes at Oaklands Park in the summer. But rather than wait to be able to view the show homes, we’d encourage buyers to act while there’s more to choose from. Those who reserve early on will be able to customise their new home to their own personal taste. Using the My Redrow area of the website, customers can select everything from the finish of the kitchen cabinets to the bathroom tiles.”

Construction of the homes will be overseen by award-winning site manager Mick Eyre.

Mick scooped a coveted Seal of Excellence in the NHBC’s ‘Pride in the Job’ Awards for his work at King’s Park near Colchester. The accolade puts him in the top 130 site managers in the country.

Oaklands Park include provision for affordable housing, with seven affordable rented properties and seven shared ownership homes forming part of the development.

Redrow will also contribute to highways and transport improvements and make payments towards education and healthcare in the area.
