New research from Barcelona’s Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREE) suggests that exercise isn’t just good for the body. The study has shown that schoolchildren who have access to green space showed increased cognitive development . Families looking for a London home with plenty of open space for ‘green exercise’ will welcome the launch of Harvard Gardens, L&Q’s newest development in SE17, which offers an excellent access to Zone 1, a stone’s throw from some of south London’s good schools and public parks.

The homes at Harvard Gardens are located within close proximity to Burgess Park and several Ofsted rated ‘Good’ schools. Burgess Park, the largest in the Borough, has recently benefitted from an £8 million transformation. The park offers excellent sporting facilities and a children’s playground, perfect for young residents to explore, learn and get their daily dose of green exercise.

Offering four bedroom duplexes, as well as one, two and three bedroom apartments, Harvard Gardens combines an excellent commuter location, superior accommodation and quick and easy access for families looking for excellent parks and open spaces.

Speaking about the development, Cathy Lloyd, Sales and Marketing Director at L&Q comments: “Home buyers at Harvard Gardens can take full advantage of a fantastic new-build home, with superb access to parks and superb access to Zone 1 connections. We feel sure that residents at Harvard Gardens will want to spend quality family time at Burgess Park, just a short walk from the development. The large range of facilities available in the park, from the adventure play area, tennis courts and BMX track, will help to create an atmosphere that encourages the development of flourishing families at Harvard Gardens.”

Harvard Gardens provides a total of 71 properties for outright sale, in a range of bedroom layouts, to suit a wide mix of buyers and lifestyles. All of the homes have been thoughtfully designed to maximise light and space, featuring airy open plan living areas, fully fitted kitchens, generously sized bedrooms and modern bathrooms. What’s more, each property also has its own private balcony or terrace.

The development is handily placed for many public transport options, a short walk from Elephant and Castle, which forms the hub of central South London’s travel network. By underground from Elephant and Castle station, the Bakerloo Line provides services to Waterloo in just four minutes, while the Northern Line serves Bank in around six minutes. There are numerous bus routes within a few minutes’ walk, putting the rest of London just a short hop away.

Guide prices for a one bedroom apartment start from £450,000, two bedroom apartments start from £560,000 for the four bedroom maisonettes start from £950,000. For more information about the new homes and to register an interest, visit the website harvard-gardens.co.uk.
