Unless you have spent time with your buried beneath the duvet, you will be aware that mobile gaming has continued to grow at an exponential rate over the course of the last five years. It is the scope of this growth that is hard to grasp, however, while the portents for future expansion are also extremely positive.

3 Stats that underline the rise of Mobile gaming

It is easier to understand the nature of this growth through numerical statistics, including the following examples: - 

1. Smartphone gaming generated 10.68 billion Euros in 2014

You would not be surprised if online gaming generated 10.68 billion Euros as a whole, but was this actually the total earned by the smartphone platform alone in 2014. This is a huge amount of income, and it is expected to increase further and at an ever fast rate between now and 2018. Some of this can be attributed to the rise of online bingo sites, which have become hugely popular in the last decade.

2. Tablet Revenue is set to double between now and 2018

Even more interesting is the growth of tablet revenue, which continues to grow as manufactures create a larger number of dedicated gaming devices. The amount of gaming revenue generate by tablets peaked at 3.51 billion Euros in 2014, but this is set to more than double by 2018 and reach a staggering 8.18 billion. In this respect, tablet revenues will continue to grow at a faster rate than smartphones.

3. People aged between two and 17 now play in excess of seven hours of mobile games each week

This is a telling statistic, as it underlines the rising diversity of adventure and educational games that are aimed at youngsters. Back in 2011, the average spent just two hours each week playing mobile games, but this had risen to seven hours by 2013. It has risen further since, as we can expect this number to continue to increase as the range of available apps also soars.
