Taking place from 16th May, the Home Builder’s Federation (HBF) will be running New Homes Week, working with many of the UK’s leading developers to highlight the advantages of buying new build property. Not only are new homes being built to beat the housing shortage but they are also significantly more cost effective, with the HBF finding that new build homes are at least 50 per cent cheaper to maintain than their Victorian equivalent. Developer, Berkeley Homes, is currently creating Brunswick Square in Orpington, offering house hunters the opportunity to reap the rewards of choosing a new apartment over old.

HBF executive chairman Stewart Baseley said: “We really hope that New Homes Week 2016 will help to promote new build homes to a brand new audience and open people’s eyes to the many reasons why they should buy new. We are urging people not to be put off by dated misconceptions, but to go and visit a development and see what is actually available.”

Karrina Oki, Sales & Marketing Director of Berkeley Homes, comments: “We are thrilled to be offering brand new homes and raising awareness in regards to the benefits of buying and living in a new build home. At Berkeley, we pride ourselves on creating well-designed, comfortable, safe and adaptable properties. Our homes are constructed using modern materials and finished to an excellent specification. Meanwhile our focus on sustainability and eco friendliness has always been at the top of our agenda, and our new homes including Brunswick Square, adopt sustainable technologies to have a reduced impact on the environment.”

Like all of Berkeley’s new build homes, the apartments at Brunswick Square have been designed to an excellent specification, offering stunning, individually designed Leicht kitchens, with modern Bosch appliances. The master bedroom includes built-in wardrobes and en-suite shower rooms in selected apartments, as well as access to the family bathroom in larger apartments. All bathrooms and en-suites are finished with designer contemporary white sanitaryware.

Each apartment also benefits from either a balcony, winter garden or terrace, providing the ideal spot to enjoy warm summer evenings and fresh air. Solar panels and efficient gas fired central heating systems ensure the homes are energy efficient, helping to keep utility bills low. Secure basement parking is also available on selected plots with electric car charging points accessible in certain spaces for ‘greener’ residents.

Prices start at £325,000 for a one bedroom apartment and £410,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For further information on Brunswick Square, visit berkeleygroup.co.uk/new-homes/london/orpington/brunswick-square
