House hunters working in London can save £3,000 on their new home, for every minute of commuting outside of the capital, according to new research by Savills. Savvy commuting house hunters can save even more, at Berkeley’s new development, Brunswick Square in Orpington, Kent. Boasting a seamless 30-minute commute to London Waterloo or Victoria, prices start from £315,000 – over £140,000 less than the average price of £458,000 for homes with the same length of commute.

Orpington is subject to an impressive regeneration programme, enhancing the town with new fitness, leisure and dining amenities. Brunswick Square, conveniently located in the town centre for all these new conveniences, comprises one and two bedroom apartments, all benefitting from either a balcony, winter garden or terrace. The development is situated just a 13 minute walk away from Orpington station, where residents can enjoy a hassle-free commute into the Capital, particularly with the addition of two peak train services in August 2016.

Karrina Oki, Sales & Marketing Director of Berkeley Homes, comments: “Orpington is really transforming into a thriving town, and residents now have a host of new facilities right on their doorstep, including a seven screen Odeon cinema, Pure Gym and several restaurants. Brunswick Square is a modern development in the heart of Orpington and provides a stunning centrepiece for the town. It benefits from being within easy reach of London, but without the associated price tag. The prospect of saving £3,000 for every minute out of London will be hugely appealing for buyers, and our stylish new apartments offer even better value for money when compared to the average price for homes within a similar distance from London.”

The homes at Brunswick Square have been designed for low maintenance, modern living. The bedrooms and living areas are spacious, while an excellent specification is displayed throughout. The Leicht kitchens have been individually designed, and are equipped with soft close, handleless doors as well as a full range of integrated Bosch appliances.

The master bedroom offers built-in wardrobes with accompanying en-suite shower rooms in selected apartments, while in larger apartments, the master bedroom has access to the family bathroom. The en-suites and bathrooms are finished with designer contemporary white sanitaryware.

The development offers some residents private parking in the underground car park, equipped with some electric charging points and cycle storage. A health and well-being centre is also located on the ground floor of the development, while a stunning double height reception at the development entrance provides an impressive welcome to residents and guests.

The regeneration of Orpington town centre has created new jobs in the area, as well as providing residents with an exciting selection of new facilities, in addition to the existing shops, leisure centres, library and Sainsbury’s.

The area is within Travel Zone 6, allowing residents to use Oyster Card to travel into and around London for a wealth of leisure activities such as theatres, museums and art galleries. Orpington railway station provides fast and frequent trains to central London, including London Bridge, Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Victoria. Peak services will be increased to up to nine trains per hour following the addition of two new services in August . The area is also served by a comprehensive bus service, and there is easy access to London’s M25 orbital motorway.

Prices start at £315,000 for a one bedroom apartment and £410,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For further information on Brunswick Square, visit:
