Game makers NetEnt are taking the online casino industry by storm

26th May 2016 Print

Swedish game developers NetEnt, have infiltrated the online casino trade at an astonishing pace, particularly in the past year. They currently hold the lion’s share of the online casino market, with more than 50% of online casino operators applying NetEnt software to their portfolios.

According to NetEnt CEO, Per Eriksonn, the company is not slowing down any time soon, and they have the figures to prove it. Recent deals with casino operators in the US, Britain and Spain have resulted in a revenue growth of 34% in the last quarter of 2015, and an operating profit of 51.6%. This impressive performance also doubled NetEnt’s market share price, currently sitting at around $2 Billion Dollars.

Founded in 1996, NetEnt presently employs 750 people based across Sweden and Malta with ongoing expansions into Krakow and Kiev. Unlike its rivals, NetEnt does not have its own casino operations and are therefore able to develop and deliver games and other content that are unique and free of conflicting interest.

Analysts are watching NetEnt’s growth with interest, curious to see whether the company can continue its rapid escalation within an industry used to seeing an expansion of about 10 percent per annum. But a bemused Eriksonn seems determined to obliterate closest competitors Aristocrat. Microgaming and Playtech for global market dominance, with continued development in the US and Europe. NetEnt have already signed on most major operators in New Jersey, and with Pennsylvania next in their sights, could create a wild fire effect across the east coast.

A major factor contributing to NetEnt’s mammoth success, lies in their vast range of outstanding quality games, pandering directly to the modern day punter’s expectation in terms of gameplay, innovation, design and attractiveness. For example the NetEnt Touch® platform allows play of all major titles on any mobile casino device without the use of an app.

Recent collaborations with major studios like Universal and South Park have resulted iconic game additions like Guns ‘n Roses and South Park: Reel Chaos. And future additions include “Live Casino” launched on mobile platform. Live Casino is one of NetEnt’s fastest growing products, by which players’ place bets and watch dealers in real time.

There simply is no other contender in the market today that can readily unseat the massive powerhouse that NetEnt is proving itself to be. In terms of setting industry benchmarks, NetEnt is definitely where it’s at.
