Eagerly awaited Essex show home opening

The opening of a stylish new show home at a hugely popular Essex development is expected to unlock further sales of new homes.

In the first three months St Nicholas Mews has clocked up an impressive sales rate, with 15 homes sold ‘off plan’.

There’s also an ever-growing list of potential purchasers keen to see inside the properties before committing to buy. Their wait is almost over as a four-bedroom detached ‘Shaftesbury’ show home is due to open this Saturday (June 11).

Expertly styled by professional interior designers it’s certain to impress and inspire would-be homeowners.

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “The Essex housing market is in a strong position with high demand from potential purchasers. Part of the appeal is location as Basildon is home to a choice of good schools and boasts strong commuter links to London, backing up our own research which found that 72% of parents placed a good local school among their top reasons for choosing to live in an area, followed by 37% favouring somewhere with good transport links.

“With that in mind it’s no surprise that even before we started building at St Nicholas Mews we were receiving enquiries from those hoping to move here with many of them keen to snap up a property at the earliest opportunity. Plus, as people have seen work progress and the show home begin to take shape it’s sparked further enquiries.

“This weekend will be their first chance to see inside one of our sought-after Heritage Collection homes. Combining the traditional charm of ‘period’ properties with the style and convenience of being brand new, the Shaftesbury show home is a must-see. We’re anticipating an increase in both enquiries and sales once people have viewed the property and would invite buyers to visit sooner rather than later.”

Accessed via a decorative canopied porch, the Shaftesbury is a prime example of how Redrow’s Heritage Collection has taken inspiration from the architecture of the Arts & Crafts era. Step inside, however, and the four-bedroom property is very much designed with modern family living in mind.

Spanning 1,410 square feet, the Shaftesbury is a generously proportioned house. On one side of the hallway, flowing from the front to the rear of the home, is an inviting lounge. On the opposite side is an open plan kitchen, dining and family room. A utility and cloakroom complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, there are four good-sized bedrooms, including master with en-suite to complement the family bathroom.

Current availability at St Nicholas Mews includes four-bedroom properties in a choice of styles, priced from £409,995, with a Shaftesbury in the same style as the show home on the market at £469,995.

Help to Buy: Equity Loans are available on selected plots.

Customers using Help to Buy should only need a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage to secure a new home. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

The show home at St Nicholas Mews opens this Saturday (June 11) and will then be available to view Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm. For more information see redrow.co.uk/stnicholas.
