A guide to wedding entertainment: How to make sure everyone enjoys the big day

5th July 2016 Print

Are you looking for ways to wow your guests as much as they’ll be wowed by the bride-to-be’s wedding gown? If you’re looking for ways to amaze all those in attendance and put on a wedding to remember you’re in luck, as there are so many wonderful wedding entertainment options to consider for your big day.

Some of the following ideas might seem a bit ‘out there’, but remember that it’s your special day and you can do whatever you please – as long as everyone has a fantastic time!

Super Slide

This is a top idea, and no, it isn’t just for the children in attendance! If you’re up for making your wedding a day that everyone will remember for being something wonderfully unique and one-of-a-kind, then a giant super slide has got to be up there with the best entertainment you can put on.

Make sure you two – the bride and the groom – are the first to hit the slide and don’t forget to make sure the wedding photographer captures the moment. This is a top idea for any wedding, especially summer garden weddings.

Top Tunes

What’s a wedding without music? That’s a good question, and hopefully none of us will ever find out because although the tunes will never be the centrepiece of the wedding, they’re essential if you’re to get everyone up off their chairs and grooving away.

Fortunately, there are some outstanding DJs out there with plenty of experience in livening up weddings, like the ever popular We R DJs who provide DJ services in London. A top tip for hiring wedding DJs is to meet with them before the big day and have a chat about the tunes they absolutely must play and the tunes they absolutely must leave off the playlist.

Don’t forget that it’s your special day and you should decide what tunes are played, so give some thought to not only the song you’d like played as the bride-to-be walks down the aisle and the pair of you dance your first dance as a married couple, but also what you’d like played throughout the rest of the special occasion.

Giant Garden Games

Games like Connect Four and Jenga are lots of fun when regularly sized, but when they’re supersized they’re even more fun! Games like these, as with the super slide, are ideal for garden weddings in the summertime.

So, now that summer has just reared its charming head once again, it’s time to make the most of the joyous weather and start holding celebrations in the outdoors once more. And what better way to celebrate the love that a couple has for one another than an outdoor wedding?

When the queue for the slide has more adults than children, the tunes are pumping and everyone’s grooving away, and the giant Jenga topples to the crowd’s delight, you’ll know you’ve put on a day that everyone will remember as much as you two will for the rest of your lives. Good luck with the preparations and enjoy the planning as much as you enjoy the big day!
