Redrow Homes is to host three special events at new housing developments across Liverpool this weekend, aimed at helping those interested in purchasing using the government’s Help to Buy incentive.

On Sunday, September 18, advice and information will be on hand at the housebuilder’s developments at Knight’s Park in Woolton, Redbridge Park in Fazakerley and Summerhill Park in the Broadgreen area.

With show homes available to view at each development, potential buyers can drop in between 10am and 5.30pm on the day to find out how Help to Buy can really get them moving into their perfect family home.

Designed to help first-time buyers and those who may not have substantial equity in their current homes, the government backed Help to Buy scheme allows home buyers to take out a 20% equity loan that’s interest free for the first five years. It means they should be able to purchase a new home with only a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage. The equity loan covers the balance and can be paid back when the customer has more funds available or when they come to resell.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), explains: “Help to Buy can be a very useful initiative in making the purchase of a new home more affordable as it reduces the initial price buyers pay for their home. It’s great for first-time buyers and existing homeowners can use it too, once they have sold their existing property subject to contract.”

All hailing from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, homes at each of the three developments combine traditional Arts & Crafts-inspired architectural design with contemporary 21st century interiors, including open-plan kitchen and dining areas and high specification fixtures and fittings.

Houses for sale at Redbridge Park on Sherwoods Lane in Fazakerley start from the three-bedroom detached Warwick, with prices from £217,995 to the four-bedroom detached Marlow from £251,995 – reducing to an initial outlay of £174,396 and £201,596 respectively with Help to Buy.

In Woolton, homes at Knight’s Park, off Speke Road, range from the four-bedroom semi detached Thirlmere from £289,995 to the four-bedroom detached Cambridge from £399,995. With Help to Buy the initial outlay on these homes is £231,996 and £319,996 respectively.

Likewise, the four-bedroom detached Shrewsbury at Summerhill Park, off Thomas Lane, reduces initially from £254,995 to £203,996 and the four-bedroom Cambridge from £314,995 to £251,996.

“Only having to find a 5% deposit is a big bonus – and the smaller mortgage means lower monthly repayments in those crucial first few years,” Claire adds. “We have a great choice of homes to suit the needs of families in Liverpool. Our Thirlmere at Knight’s Park for example offers a move away from the more traditional home, with four bedrooms over three floors, including a master with en-suite on the top floor which makes a perfect sanctuary for mum and dad or the ideal private space for older children.”

Homebuyers don’t need an appointment to go along to any of the three developments on the day. For more information on the Redrow houses available across Liverpool and the surrounding areas, visit redrow.co.uk/liverpool.
