Home-hunters longing to step on or up the property ladder don’t have to make do with day-dreaming anymore – instead they can buy brand new using Help to Buy at Taylor Wimpey’s Kings Down development in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The leading housebuilder has launched a campaign – Don’t Make Do, Buy New! – to help first-time buyers and existing homeowners realise that purchasing a new property is much easier and more affordable than they might have imagined.

Rather than making do, property-seekers can buy new with a deposit as low as 5% and then look forward to lower monthly mortgage repayments too – all thanks to the fantastic Help to Buy scheme!

What’s more, Taylor Wimpey is offering to pay the stamp duty costs for those who purchase their new dream home at Kings Down before the end of October.

Charlie Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, says: “Many people want to buy a brand new home but worry they won’t be able to afford it, so instead they end up making do with what they’ve got.

“We want to show aspiring purchasers that they don’t have to make do with their current home because they can buy new at Kings Down, using Help to Buy.

“Help to Buy is available exclusively for new-build properties so purchasers won’t have to worry about expensive repairs that can often come hand-in-hand with an older property – and modern energy-efficient central heating, insulation and double-glazing means that their new home is cheaper to run too. It’s a win-win situation!”

Help to Buy enables both eligible first-time buyers and those with a property to sell to access a Government loan for 20% of the full price of their new home – so for example they can secure a three-bedroom ‘Gosford,’ priced from just £185,000 at Kings Down with a 75% loan-to-value mortgage of £138,750 and a 5% deposit as of just £9,250.

The Help to Buy initiative is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000 and there is no salary cap for customers who take advantage of the scheme.

There’s a superb selection of new homes available to purchase with Help to Buy at Kings Down, including three-bedroom homes, priced from £185,000 and four-bedroom designs from £217,500.

Kings Down is a popular new neighbourhood which is delivering new homes and community facilities in a well-connected location, with the famous 12m-high Willow Man sculpture forming a striking focal point for the community.

A new school – Willowdown Primary Academy – opened at the development in September 2014 while the newly opened Bridgwater Community Hospital is less than a mile away.

Bridgwater town centre is within easy reach of the new homes for an excellent choice of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and pubs, as well as a lively music scene.

Meanwhile, the stunning scenery and wildlife of the Quantock Hills and the picturesque beauty of the Somerset Levels are right on the doorstep.

For commuters, junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are easily accessible from the new homes, while Bridgwater railway station is only 1.5 miles away for direct services to Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff.

To find out more about securing a new home with Help to Buy at Kings Down, property-seekers should visit the Sales and Information Centre, located on Kings Drive, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 4FN, and open daily from 11am to 5.30pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
