Taylor Wimpey has been granted planning permission to build 180 new homes at its brand new Wheatfield Manor development in Codsall, Staffordshire.

Wheatfield Manor – which received planning approval from South Staffordshire District Council on 18th October 2016 – will comprise a range of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, along with areas of public open space and an equipped play area.

The development will include 40% affordable properties which will give local residents and key workers the opportunity to enjoy life in a brand new home within their own community, while Taylor Wimpey will also be making financial contributions of £281,291 towards education, £68,792 towards green infrastructure, and £6,300 towards travel planning, which includes local highways infrastructure and cycle ways.

Anne Wallace, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We are delighted to have received approval for our plans for our new Wheatfield Manor development in Codsall, which will provide a superb choice of new homes in this stunning Staffordshire location.

“Property-seekers should register their details with us today to ensure they are among the first in line to receive the latest information about when the initial selection of properties are released for sale.”

The leading local housebuilder has now started work to prepare the site for construction, with the first properties expected to be released for sale in April 2017.

The new homes at Wheatfield Manor will enjoy a peaceful yet well-connected location in the Staffordshire village of Codsall, which is surrounded by countryside and natural woodland areas, and lies just six miles away from Wolverhampton.

Codsall has everything needed for convenient day-to-day living, including shops, a doctor’s surgery, a dental practice and a library, while ‘The Square’, situated in the village centre, offers an array of independent boutiques, traditional pubs, restaurants and cafés, and a bank.

Meanwhile, the thriving city of Wolverhampton is just a short drive away and boasts an extensive selection of high street shops, department stores and supermarkets. There are also plenty of entertainment and leisure facilities available for family days out.

Parents will appreciate that Codsall has a number of well-regarded schools for all ages. Including Birches First School, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School, rated ‘Good’, both cater for children up to the age of 11, while for secondary-age pupils, Codsall Community High School and Aldersley High School are also both rated ‘Good’.

For commuters, the M54 is within easy reach of the development, providing links to the M6 and M5 motorways, for routes to Birmingham, Worcester, Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent. Codsall railway station is just one mile away and provides regular and direct services to Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street, offering connections to destinations further afield.
