The nation’s dream of home ownership is as strong as ever with 80% of adults dreaming of being homeowners within ten years according to new research released by the Council of Mortgage Lenders. With the Help to Buy scheme available at Countryside’s Kingsbridge development in the village of Headcorn, Kent, those looking for a family home in a rural location that’s also great for commuting can buy with a deposit of just 5%. The Government will then provide an equity loan of up to 20% of the property’s value, interest free for the first five years, with the buyer raising a mortgage for the remaining 75%.

Kingsbridge is a stylish new collection of 29 beautiful three and four-bedroom family homes overlooking the Weald of Kent. Traditional in design to complement the scenic surroundings and existing architecture, yet packed full of contemporary interior design and mod cons, Kingsbridge offers the perfect balance between rural and urban living.

Andrew Loveday, Sales Director at Countryside comments: “The vast majority of people in the UK still dream of owning their own home, and with the Help to Buy scheme this can become a reality for those who have a secure income but don’t have access to a large deposit. Second steppers can benefit too, enabling them to move up the ladder to a home that may previously have been out of reach. The houses at Kingsbridge are ideal for families, with plenty of living space downstairs including a large open plan kitchen diner and family room, with three or four good sized bedrooms upstairs, generous gardens and garages. What’s more, they are surrounded by beautiful Weald landscape.”

The four bedroom detached Cheverny house design is available to buy through the Help to Buy scheme. The light filled home benefits from a spacious kitchen and breakfast / family area with French doors opening onto the garden, as well as a separate generous sized living room and dining room. The home boasts a high specification and attention to detail throughout, with integrated appliances including fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a compact oven/microwave.

On the second floor, The Cheverny features a spacious master bedroom with en suite, a guest room with an en suite and a further two bedrooms, one which can double as a useful study. The family sized bathroom features white sanitaryware with chrome taps for a slick finish and a double-ended bath with a rich walnut panel.

The pretty village of Headcorn exudes the classic English village vibe, from the charming country pubs and quaint tearooms to a village green and a fantastic range of local shops. It also has its own mainline railway station, a half a mile walk from Kingsbridge, with direct trains to London in just over one hour.
Headcorn is located just nine miles from Maidstone town centre and 14 miles from Ashford, which offers fast trains to London St Pancras in just 38 minutes. The upmarket shops and restaurants of Tunbridge Wells, Tenterden and Tonbridge are also nearby.

Prices at Kingsbridge start from £349,995 for a three bedroom home and four bedroom homes start from £485,000. The Help to Buy scheme is available on all the properties at Kingsbridge. For further information, visit countryside-properties.com.
