Property-seekers in Somerset can discover more about securing a stylish new home using the Help to Buy scheme during a special event at Kings Down, Taylor Wimpey’s in-demand development in Bridgwater.

A Help to Buy Weekend will be held at the development on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April, giving would-be movers the chance to learn all about how this popular scheme can help them snap up a fabulous new home in this sought after location.

Help to Buy enables eligible first-time buyers and those with a property to sell to access a Government loan of up to 20% of the full price of their new home – so they only require a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit as low as 5%.

What’s more, anyone who reserves a new home at Kings Down during the Help to Buy Weekend will get their stamp duty paid by Taylor Wimpey!

Danielle Heard, Acting Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, says: “This special weekend is a fantastic chance for savvy purchasers to find out how Help to Buy could make it much easier and more affordable for them to secure one of the stunning new homes available here at Kings Down.

“I’d encourage aspiring buyers to come along to the event on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April and speak to our Sales Executive, while an independent financial advisor will also be on hand to go through the purchasing process step-by-step.”

There’s currently a superb selection of two, three and four-bedroom houses on sale at Kings Down, priced from just £170,000, £195,000 and £231,000 respectively.

The stunning three-bedroom detached ‘Easdale’, for example, is available from £219,000 and features a spacious kitchen/dining room, a living room with double doors leading to the private rear garden and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway. Upstairs there are three well-proportioned bedrooms, including the luxurious en-suite master, and a family bathroom. Outside, the property benefits from a garage and allocated parking.

The Help to Buy scheme is available with new-build properties up to the value of £600,000, and there is no salary cap for customers taking advantage of the scheme.

Kings Down is a popular new neighbourhood which is delivering new homes and community facilities in a well-connected location, with the famous 12m-high Willow Man sculpture forming a striking focal point for the community.

A new school – Willowdown Primary Academy – opened at the development in September 2014 while the newly-opened Bridgwater Community Hospital is less than a mile away.

Bridgwater town centre is within easy reach of the new homes for an excellent choice of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and pubs, as well as a lively music scene.

Meanwhile, the stunning scenery and wildlife of the Quantock Hills and the picturesque beauty of the Somerset Levels are right on the doorstep.

For commuters, junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are easily accessible from the new homes, while Bridgwater railway station is only 1.5 miles away for direct services to Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff.

The Help to Buy Weekend is taking place at Kings Down on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April from 11am to 5.30pm.

The development is located on Kings Drive, Bath Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 4FP, and open daily between the same times. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
