It's national New Homes Week (May 15 – 21st) so what better time to throw open the doors to some stunning properties alongside the River Lune, in Lancaster.

On Saturday, May 20, award winning homebuilder Redrow is hosting a special ‘Open House’ event at Riverside View, home to two of its popular developments, each with something very different to offer.

Riverside View, off New Quay Road, features Redrow’s Arts & Crafts inspired, traditional looking Heritage Collection homes and more contemporary Hayeswater apartments, whilst Abode at Riverside View features an alternative range of homes with simple, modern façades and open plan, apartment style living inside.

But both benefit from the delightful location, close to the heart of the historic city and on the banks of the River Lune.

Would-be buyers will be able to see both at the Open House event when, as well as the fully finished show homes, visitors will be able to view a selection of finished or almost finished properties.

The event falls just as the Home Builders Federation (HBF) is encouraging people to visit a development and discover for themselves the advantages of a new home – from strong designs and practical layouts to low running costs, easy maintenance and incentives such as the Government backed Help to Buy, which makes new homes easier to afford.

“Show homes are wonderful for demonstrating individual designs, layouts and specification, and for highlighting just how wonderful a particular home is or could be for an individual,” said Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire). “They are carefully and beautifully furnished with people and families in mind, giving an idea of what it could be like to live in them.

“But no-one knows a person’s home or dreams like they do and so open house events also give customers the chance to see the home just as it is, stripped bare; it allows them to imagine how they would furnish it, what they would do in this room or that room, whether their sofa would look better in the lounge or the family area – and whether it would fit.”

And she added: “Many of the homes that will be available for viewing are ready or nearly ready, so anyone wishing to make their dreams a reality will be able to do so quite quickly.”

Available properties include the four-bedroom detached Stratford style home, a prime example of Redrow’s renowned Heritage Collection with its classically-designed English frontages which embrace the skill and craft associated with a bygone time. Inside, meanwhile, buyers find themselves firmly in the 21st century; modern appliances fit in perfectly with the chic and stylish interior room design, while open plan living spaces contribute to the modern ambience.

An en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, ground floor cloakroom and designated laundry space all add to the benefits of owning a home like this, creating a lifestyle that is as easy as it’s enjoyable and, from £259,995, affordable too.

At the neighbouring Abode development, the 1050 property will be welcoming visitors. Priced from £219,995, the Abode 1050 home is virtually open plan on its ground floor with a combined kitchen, dining and lounge area, plus study space. The cloakroom and laundry space are tucked away and there’s ample storage space behind cleverly designed faux walls. There’s underfloor heating too and, upstairs, there are three good size bedrooms, one with en-suite, and a shower room.

Join Redrow in Lancaster between 10am and 5.30pm on Saturday, May 20 to find out more, or see the website at redrow.co.uk/riversideview or redrow.co.uk/abodelancaster.
