Moving from Hertford to Bishop’s Stortford could see first time buyers priced into - rather than out of - the housing market.

There are just 16 miles between the two locations, but the difference in the price of apartments could be more than £10,000 per mile.

The affordability of homes in Bishop’s Stortford makes relocating to a new Redrow apartment at Regent’s Court in the town an attractive prospect, particularly for those stepping onto the first rung of the housing ladder.

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), explains: “Location, price and specification top buyers’ wish lists and Regent’s Court scores highly on all fronts, particularly when compared with the surrounding area. Figures from home.co.uk suggest the average price of an apartment in Hertford is more than £420,000 whereas we have properties available for just a fraction of that. Then, when you factor in Help to Buy, our apartments become even more attractive as the equity loan scheme reduces both the size of mortgage and initial deposit required. ”

Prices at Regent’s Court start from £238,995 for a one-bedroom apartment, with two-bedroom designs from £316,995.

“Increasing the radius of your home search can make a massive difference to people’s ability to buy and we’d encourage anyone thinking of buying an apartment in Hertfordshire to consider Bishop’s Stortford,” Kerry adds.

“It’s only 16 miles from Hertford and 24 miles from Stevenage. Our apartments are just a 10-minute walk from the town centre, home to a good choice of independent and high street stores. Regent’s Court makes a great commuter base as London Liverpool Street is within a 46 minute journey, including walking to the station.”

The M11 and M25 motorways are also within easy reach, along with Stansted Airport for international travel.

The apartments enjoy open plan layouts to maximise the potential of the space available with combined kitchen, living and dining rooms.

Kitchens will be kitted out with integrated top brand name appliances; while bathrooms will feature sleek modern fixtures and fittings, with master bedroom in the two-bedroom apartments benefitting from an en-suite.

All of the apartments have allocated parking and selected properties include a Juliet balcony.

The apartments at Regent’s Court are being sold via Intercounty estate agents in Bishop’s Stortford. For more information, visit redrow.co.uk/regentscourt.
