Mattressman opts for high-cube Citroen Relay Luton vans

Four of the latest specification Citroen Ready to Run Relay Luton vans are now in service with one of the UK’s largest online suppliers of mattresses and beds. Norwich-based Mattressman.co.uk is using its new Relay Luton vans to provide a next-day delivery service for high-quality mattresses and bed products throughout the east of England.

The new Relay Ready to Run Luton vans supplied to Mattressman.co.uk benefit from the latest specification upgrades introduced by their builders, Buckstone Motor Bodies Ltd. As such, the already high specification of the Relay Ready to Run Luton vans has been improved with the addition of a new aerodynamic “Super-Slick” moulded Luton front end to reduce wind resistance and improve fuel economy. The Super-Slick aerodynamic Luton head also adds a small, but worthwhile, improvement in loadspace volume in the over-cab body section.

Mattressman.co.uk has specified three 4.343m long main deck bodied Relay Luton vans and one 4.876m extra long model. All four of these Luton van bodies are built on Relay 35 L4 160hp chassis cabs. To suit their role as mattress and bed carriers, Buckstone Motor Bodies has deleted the standard Ready to Run specification full-length load lashing rails in order to improve capacity and provide a smooth sidewall for ease of loading/unloading. Twin, body side wall-mounted, recessed load restraint rails are provided. In service, Mattressman.co.uk is able to carry up to 30 mattresses in the extra long Relay Luton and 20 in the shorter model.
