Keeping up with the PH JonesES

One of Peugeot’s largest solus fleet customers, PH Jones, is championing the fuel economy achieved by its vehicle’s HDi engines, as it adds the new 207 Van to its fleet of over 800 light commercial vehicles and cars.

PH Jones currently operates a fleet of 750 Peugeot Boxer, Expert and Partner vans, each covering an estimated 15,000 miles per year from its 30 regional depots providing heating, plumbing, property maintenance and utilities services to over 250,000 homes nationwide.

In an economic climate where the cost of fuel, specifically diesel, looks set to remain above £1 per litre and the government persists in putting pressure on company motorists to reduce their CO2 emissions, fleet operators such as PH Jones, continue to look for ways to reduce these costs, and their effect on the environment. Its current solutions include forward planning of driving routes, providing staff with tips on economical driving and using the most fuel efficient and low emission vehicles.

Commenting on the relationship, PH Jones Fleet Manager Don Hankey, said: “With the amount of miles covered by our staff, and the sheer amount of vehicles we operate each year to carry out repairs to private households, fuel costs and subsequently CO2 emissions all add up.”

By specifying these vehicles, we have greatly reduced our annual fuel and vehicle repair costs, while minimising our CO2 emissions from company vehicles. We have also been so impressed with the service and support we receive, not only from Peugeot Fleet but from its network of dealers, that we have extensively bought Peugeot vehicles.”
