Shift loads with Nissan Good-To-Go

21st November 2007 Print
Nissan Good-To-Go range Nissan is launching a comprehensive range of ‘off the peg’ commercial vehicle conversions offering the convenience of instant availability backed up by the reassurance of Nissan’s reputation for quality.

The Nissan Good-To-Go range is to be offered from stock through its network of specialist CV dealers, providing an instant solution for the operator who needs to be on the road immediately.

The line-up includes tippers, dropsides, box vans and fridge vans which perfectly complement one of the most comprehensive ranges of light commercial vehicles on the market today.

Available across the Kubistar, Primastar and Interstar panel van ranges and the Cabstar light truck range, these conversions are backed up by the same reassurance enjoyed by all Nissan light commercial vehicles – a three-year/60,000 mile mechanical warranty.

Cool running
In particular, Nissan has responded to the strong demand for customer-ready refrigerated transport with an extensive choice of bodies sourced from a UK converter.

These range from a 3m3 Kubistar from £14,985, a 5m3 Primastar from £19,995 through to a choice of short or long wheelbase 3.5t Interstars offering volumes from 9m3 to 11m3, from £26,995. Rear door pods with one piece moulded panels and no metal to metal contact ensure high thermal efficiency. There’s also a side loading door as standard on Interstar models.

Available with a choice of freezer units and chillers from two of the world’s leading manufacturers, all compressors are powered by an engine PTO. Kubistar models use a Hubbard 360 unit, while the rest of the Nissan line-up is fitted with Carrier products – either Viento 200, 300 and 350 units or the Xarious range featuring a power standby for added convenience.

All refrigerated models of course meet ATP category C (for frozen operation down to -20°C and requiring a minimum thermal efficiency (K factor) of less than 0.4W/m2/°C).

The Cabstar collection
The all-new Cabstar light truck made its debut at the beginning of 2007 and introduced cleaner, more powerful engines plus best-in-class payloads and cargo lengths. The ever versatile range is now offered with a choice of 3.5t box van conversions across all three wheelbases.

Depending on the size of box van, payloads range from 1160 to 1422kg, load volumes from 14.3 to 19m3 and load lengths from 3275mm to 4375mm. Constructed from GRP, features include a polyester translucent roof, 18mm Wizadeck flooring, 300mm section kick board, one set of Aeroquip lashing bars and two levels of lashing rails. Twin rear doors opening to 270° are standard, while customers can alternatively specify a rear roller shutter door supplied by either Whiting or JBL.

A refrigerated Good-To-Go option on the 3.5 tonne single cab Cabstar uses the same bodybuilder and fridge units featured on other Nissan Good-To-Go models and comes in capacities ranging from 10.8 to 15.4m3 and with load lengths of between 3164mm to 3664mm.

Topping off the Cabstar range is a variety of tippers and dropsides, again spread over standard and crew cab models, and with three wheelbases to cope with every requirement, from landscape gardeners to scaffolders.

Dropside payloads range from 1239 to 1521kg and start at load lengths of 3160mm, extending all the way to 4600mm. The tipper bodies accommodate load lengths from 3180mm to 3500mm.

The 3.4t tipper features heavy duty 2.0mm folded mild steel headboards and a three-stage ram taking it to the fully raised position in 20 seconds.

The 3.5t tipper has 2.5mm pressed steel headboards, formed C-channel side panels with 4mm gussets, and a five-stage OMFB Industrial ram which can raise a full load to maximum height in just 17 seconds.

Peace-of-mind
Completing the professional package is a network of specialist CV dealers, that will grow to circa 55, across the UK. Good-To-Go models will be carried in stock and backed up by a central stock from which specific requirements can be drawn when required. Each dealer will also have demonstrators available, so potential customers can try before they buy.

The clincher is Nissan’s growing reputation in the light commercial market reflected in rapidly growing sales and backed up by an increasingly extensive range able to fulfil a wide variety of needs – the Kubistar with its car-like driving experience; Primastar, Nissan’s contender in the mid-sized panel van, crew van and minibus segments; Interstar in the heavy van category; the Cabstar range of light trucks, and of course the versatile and robust Pickup.

Now with the introduction of the Good-To-Go range, Nissan has taken convenience to the next level.
