Lloyds Transport won over by Renault Trucks

26th June 2009 Print
Renault Premium Trucks West Midlands based freight logistics company, Lloyds Transport, has taken delivery of 10 new Renault Premium 450.25 tractor units, through Renault Trucks Midlands. The 6x2, Euro 5 trucks join a 35-strong mixed fleet, following company trials of all major manufacturers.

The vehicles will undertake dedicated haulage for a number of clients, which includes FMCG, food, drink and steel products, nationwide.

Colin Whorton, Director, Lloyds Transport, says: “We undertook trials of demonstrator vehicles from a number of different manufacturers and were impressed by the Renault Premium’s latest technology engine and gearbox, as well as its good fuel return. What was also important to us was the excellent customer service we received from Renault Trucks Midlands. Lloyds Transport is growing steadily as a company, through organic growth of its current client base and the acquisition of new business. At the moment we spot hire in extra tractor units but are looking to make further additions to the fleet in the near future. We would certainly consider adding more Renault vehicles and are currently trialling a Renault Magnum demonstrator with Renault Trucks Midlands.”

Lloyds Transport has its head office in Tipton, West Midlands, with additional operating centres in the Birmingham area. The company provides transport and logistics solutions throughout the UK. Its fleet ranges from Sprinter vans to 44 tonne tractor units, with over 100 trailers, including curtain side, box and flat bed trailers. All vehicles are fitted with satellite tracking systems and other security features. Lloyds Transport offers a 24/7 service, 365 days a year, and is a member of both the Road Haulage Association and the FTA.
