Parents help Rachel make a move to Islington
Amongst those to benefit is 24-year old Rachel Obrart, whose parents helped her pay the deposit on a new two-bedroom apartment at Northpoint in Islington, an exclusive development of 32 smart contemporary one and two-bedroom apartments by Inspace Homes in partnership with Your Lifespace.
Rachel, who works for a London events management company and had been renting with friends in East Finchley, comments: “My parents didn’t like the idea of me paying someone else’s mortgage through renting and wanted to help me get on the property ladder. They thought it was the right time to buy and luckily were in a position to help.”
Northpoint’s fantastic location in central Islington was a major attraction for Rachel, as she explains: “There are a lot of young professionals around Islington, masses of pubs, bars and shops and a great social scene. The transport links are excellent too. For a girl in her twenties, it’s the ideal place to live.”
Visiting Northpoint, Rachel was impressed by the spaciousness and quality of the apartments and quickly decided to buy. “Everything went very smoothly in buying my home and everyone at Inspace Homes was great, though my professional organisation skills must have helped!” she jokes.
Now that she’s settled in, Rachel finds it easy to get around. She comments: “There’s a bus stop with very regular services right outside the development and another stop for different routes further up the road. Angel tube station is ten minutes away and night buses run round the clock, so it’s no problem getting home after a late night out.” Adding to the convenience, a Sainsbury’s and Tesco Express are within a few minutes’ walk, taking the hassle out of food shopping.
Rachel adds: “My new flat is everything I expected – I’m just so pleased that I found a good size apartment in a prime location for such a reasonable price. It feels so safe living here and I love the freedom.” Friends from Totteridge often come to stay at weekends to enjoy the ‘buzzy nightlife’ and the spacious open-plan layout, second bedroom and two bathrooms provide plenty of room for visitors.
Inspace Homes includes many extras as standard, making the homes great value. Rachel’s smart Pepper kitchen includes a high quality oven, hob, hood, dishwasher, fridge and washer/dryer. Floor coverings throughout the apartment are also included. Every resident at Northpoint benefits from a cycle store and a free 12-month membership of the Streetcar car club.
All the apartments at Northpoint have been reserved, but Inspace Homes has recently launched another outstanding development of one, two and three bedroom apartments at Harmony in Isleworth, West London, just ten miles drive from Central London and a half hour train journey from London Waterloo. Prices at Harmony start from £199,950 for a one-bedroom apartment and anyone reserving a home before 31st August receives a free £1,000 Thomas Cook holiday voucher.
