Moroccan riads inspire design of new homes near Marrakech Charles Boccara’s design of the 47 three-bedroom villas which make up Domaine De L’Akhdar Vue Du Paradis on the outskirts of Marrakech is inspired by that of traditional Moroccan riad homes which have a central courtyard or garden, sometimes with a fountain.

Beneath high vaulted hand-crafted brick ceilings, the villas feature a blend of Berber and oriental styles which combine sunny spacious living rooms and cosy alcoves with modern kitchens and bathrooms.

Set among Andalusian-style communal gardens with water features, and positioned to maximise the panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, the villas range in size from 638 sq m to 1,539 sq m. Each home comes with an inner courtyard and a private garden with a pool.

When it is ready for occupation in the autumn this year, Domaine De L’Akhdar will be a secure gated community with its own clubhouse incorporating a restaurant, spa, hammam and home theatre.

The centre of Marrakech is only 15 minutes away by road. The journey to Marrakech Airport takes 20 minutes.

Already a number of the properties at Domaine De L’Akhdar have been sold off-plan. The prices of those remaining start at £223,014 reports Saffron Villas which can provide more details. For further information, visit saffronvillas.com.
