Felton Park Hall – A building of England
The property dates from 1732 and provides in excess of 9000 square feet of accommodation, comprising five formal reception rooms and six bedrooms with five bathrooms.
Felton Park Hall has an impressive provenance, having been owned by two of the largest landowning familes in Northumberland. It is attributed to Cranston and was constructed by the Widdrington family as the centrepiece for their Felton Park Estate in 1732. It passed to the Riddell family in 1799 and remained in their ownership until the mid-20th century. It was commandeered by the Army in World War II and fell into disrepair, before being partly demolished and remodelled to form the impressive property offered today.
Within the gardens, a Grade II* Listed greenhouse dates from 1830 and is thought to have been designed by Capability Brown. It is designed with a curved pent roof with fishscale glazing, and is reputedly one of only four surviving of its style.
“Felton Park Hall is a stunning and grand property. It is ideal as a secluded family home, or as a property with letting and sub-division potential.
“The current owners have refurbished the property to create a fabulous family home, with retained period detailing and grace, combined with modern comforts and a perfect layout for modern family living.
“The property came to the market in the summer of 2008 at a guide of £2,500,000 and whilst we had good interest, a sale was not agreed. The new guide of £1,950,000 represents great value and an opportunity for a discerning purchaser, in what is both a beautiful and an accessible part of the country.”
Felton Park Hall is marketed with a Guide Price of £1,950,000.
