Redrow homes have the X Factor

20th November 2008 Print
Redrow homes have the X Factor When it came to finding the perfect home, X-Factor contestant Cath Lewis hit the right note with Redrow's homes in North Cornelly, near Bridgend. One half of super singing duo Adante, bubbly Cath judged her new three-bedroom property at Dôl Gorwel to be ahead of the competition because of its spacious rooms and affordability.

Originally from Kenfig Hill, the mum-of-one moved in to a home on the first phase of Dôl Gorwel with her husband and 14-year-old daughter Lauren. And despite hitting the big time after making it through to the X Factor boot camp earlier this year, Cath and her family are staying put in their beautiful family home.

The development features a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes alongside Redrow's unique first time buyer ‘Debut' homes.

Cath, 36, said: "We're very happy at Dôl Gorwel. We chose the development because we wanted to move up from a two-bedroom home and this was the largest three-bedroom home we found in this area. We're close to all the local amenities here and we're just a few miles from Porthcawl and Bridgend for the shops and restaurants."

Dynamic duo Adante, formed by Cath and her friend Adele Gabriel in July 2007, have received a whirlwind of publicity since their original X factor appearance in May, when they won the judges' hearts - including that of the man who's usually the hardest to please, Simon Cowell - for their great voices and lively personalities.

Despite not making it through to the live stage show, the girls' popularity has meant they have been kept extremely busy with charity gigs, interviews and TV appearances including ITV2's Xtra Factor. They are also continuing to run their singing and dancing school as well as aerobic lessons at the nearby Pyle Life Centre.

Cath added: "It's been crazy but we've still been singing locally and I've managed to relax a bit at home. Two years ago we never dreamt we would reach this point but we're having a great time."

Following Laura's surprise departure from the show, who Adele had tipped to win, they are both now rooting for Cath's favourite Alexandra, who Cath described as "a lovely girl", and boyband JLS.

And her verdict on the judges, who they spent eight days with at boot camp: "Simon is as a gentleman but Louis was our favourite. He's a nice man and was really friendly."

The good news for homebuyers who want to live the dream along with Cath at Dôl Gowel is that there is still a great range of homes available priced from £109,995 to £184,995. There are also still homes available on Redrow's neighbouring ‘Debut' development, priced from just £50,000 to make them affordable for first time buyers.

The development is close to a small selection of shops, just four miles from the prestigious seaside resort of Porthcawl and six miles from the bustling town of Bridgend, with all its shops, bars and restaurants. The Kenfig Nature reserve is within walking distance and offers beautiful walks and views over the sand dunes.
