SAS finalizes pilot agreement

On April 1, 2008, SAS and the Danish Pilots' Association (DPF), the Norwegian SAS Pilots' Association (NSF) and the Swedish Pilots' Association (SPF) signed a two-year collective agreement on salaries and general terms of service. The agreement period is April 1, 2007, through March 31, 2009. SAS now has multiyear agreements with all 39 trade union organizations in the Group.

The agreement is approximately in line with the general salary trend in the Scandinavian market.

The parties have agreed that, in coming years, they will work together in work groups on central issues, such as productivity improvements and rules on working hours.

"As a result of this agreement, we now have basic conditions for continued stability in our production for the next few years. We can now use all our energy to implement Strategy 2011 in a changed market scenario, with intensifying competition and record-high fuel prices," says SAS President and CEO Mats Jansson.

"It is with great relief that we can now direct our sights and energy ahead to the challenges to be faced in conjunction with new aircraft and the pilots' contribution to the implementation of Strategy 2011," says Mogens Holgaard, Chairman of the Danish Pilots' Association.
