Spanair launches online tracking service for delayed luggage

19th December 2006 Print
Spanair has launched a web-based service allowing passengers to keep abreast of the status of delayed luggage, without the need to make any telephone calls.

Known as Worldtracer, the system permits a totally free 24-hour access 365 days a year, and it will be available in a range of languages. The company has therefore become the first Spanish carrier to provide passengers with detailed information on the recovery of mislaid items of luggage.

"At Spanair, the quality of service is key for us. As shown by data from the Association of European Airlines (AEA), Spanair is one of the leading European companies in terms of its ratio for luggage incidents", stated Lars Nygaard, General Director of Spanair. He added that "It is therefore our responsibility to maintain these high standards by implementing new services to meet passenger requirements, as is the case with the Worldtracer luggage tracking system".

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated with a fleet of 64 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 150 destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
