Almeria one of the key destinations in Spanair's expansion plan

21st December 2006 Print
With the recent launch of the new route between Almeria and Madrid, the Company hopes to provide a service to 44 percent of Almeria airport's total traffic.

The ambitious Expansion Plan in which the company is presently engaged and that will be completed in 2010, converts Spanair as the best alternative for the business passenger, while at the same time providing a highly competitive service for those passengers traveling for pleasure.

Almeria now becomes an important part of this Expansion Plan, due to the high rate of business traffic and the connections with other destinations between Madrid and Almeria. Spanair offers 6 daily frequencies, 3 each way, between both cities.

With this route, Spanair completes its presence in the most important Andalusian cities, counting on a large route network that makes it possible to connect to said cities with other destinations and, which in 2007 will be reinforced with the opening of new routes linking Jerez and Malaga with Bilbao.

Spanair also offers the possibility of connecting with a wide range of intercontinental destinations from the hubs offered by the Star Alliance network in Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Zurich, Munich and Vienna. At the same time the Alliance continues to strengthen its presence in Spain by currently operating with 11 airlines, more than 2,800 weekly flights, and also offers many advantages to its travelers; a superior quality of service, the option of collecting and redeeming points via the Spanair Plus frequent flyer Programme, and also with any of the other member carriers, as well as a through check-in to their final destination and access to the VIP lounges.

"We are very pleased with to start up of our operations in Almeria, that we consider to be an important piece to our Expansion Plan, contributing to its development and stimulating the demand by means of competitive prices, while offering a high quality service both on the ground as well as on board, that always aims to satisfy our passengers' demands", states Lars Nygaard, CEO of Spanair.

Passengers travelling on these flights will benefit from the advantages offered by Spanair’s Punctuality Guarantee Commitment, which also applies to the full range of scheduled domestic flight network.
